Role Overview
Join Dropbox Canada’s innovative engineering team to architect and build the robust infrastructure powering global services. You’ll design, develop, and scale systems capable of handling massive data volumes and millions of concurrent users worldwide.
Define and implement next-generation systems for metadata governance, optimize performance across multiple platforms, and guide cross-functional initiatives that enhance our technological backbone.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and implement systems that manage exabytes of user data and support global operations
- Design and operate scalable metadata services serving billions of users across the globe
- Lead the development of innovative infrastructure solutions that enable cross-platform data accessibility
- Design and maintain data integrity and security protocols
- Guide junior engineers and promote advanced engineering practices
Technical Requirements
- Proven experience building highly available, distributed systems
- Proficiency with languages including Python, Go, Java, or similar
- Demonstrable knowledge of operating system internals and distributed systems principles
- Ability to develop and optimize systems handling billions of operations daily
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with concurrency control mechanisms
- Background in developing cloud-native applications
- Experience with systems designed for petabyte-scale data
✅ Qualifications
- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or equivalent technical field with significant programming experience
- Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience building large-scale systems
- Proven ability to design, scale, and operate globally distributed infrastructure
- Experience developing high-concurrency applications across Python, Go, C/C++, or Java
- Deep understanding of operating systems, filesystems, distributed databases, and networking protocols
