Job Description

Job Summary

ARMStrong Insurance Services, a leader in debt recovery and financial solutions, is expanding. Brown & Joseph, part of our parent company’s trusted network, is seeking a dedicated Payroll and Benefits Manager to join our growing team. This critical role ensures accurate and timely payroll processing for our ARMStrong family of companies and oversees the successful implementation of new payroll systems or changes to existing ones, directly impacting employee satisfaction and retention.

Responsibilities

  • Payroll Management: Process payroll for all ARMStrong affiliated companies, review and approve timecards, and ensure accuracy in salary calculations, paid time off, benefits, garnishments, and tax deductions.
  • Remit 401k deductions to providers and maintain meticulous records.
  • Payroll Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to federal, state, and local payroll regulations, wage laws, and best practices.
  • Implementation & Onboarding: Lead the onboarding of new companies onto payroll systems, oversee project planning, and coordinate with vendors and HR to ensure smooth, timely enrollment, including setting up pay practices, PTO, pay codes, and open employee enrollment.
  • Other Tasks: Respond to and manage state unemployment and withholding tax accounts, as well as handle insurance bill reconciliation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of payroll management experience, with a specific minimum of 3+ years managing multi-state payroll operations in a high-volume environment.
  • Profound knowledge of payroll processes, including preparation, balancing, internal controls, Federal Tax Withholding, and payroll tax filing.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with various payroll software vendors is highly desirable.
